Susan Brownlee

My name is Susan Brownlee. I have a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Pittsburg State University. For 33 years I have worked as a Graphic artist. The last 28 years have been spent as an Independent Contractor.

I continued to follow my personal passions in painting, metals , printmaking and ceramics through the Wichita Art Association (now MARKarts). Working in metals by making jewelry has been my most consistent art expression.

I am inspired by the materials I use and the natural and industrial world around me. The work that comes from my hands tends to express the processes of exposure to the elements and decay. The surfaces that excite me the most are ones that show the wear and the passage of time.
