Kristen Pease – Bio

Kristen Pease was born in Omaha, NE in 2001 and currently resides in Park City, KS.

Since early childhood, she has had a natural born interest and appreciation for a wide variety of visual arts.

She explored many types of mediums throughout the years; from quilting and knitting to sculpting and sketching.

In 2018, Kristen began taking classes at Wichita City Arts.

These classes included; portrait drawing, oil painting, and eventually pottery. She spent many hours in the studio expanding her skills and learning new techniques.

Oil painting on canvas and hand-thrown pottery have since become her two main forms of artistic expression.

After experimenting with a few different clay bodies, she settled on speckled buff for its rich tan hue and Southwestern feel.

Each piece is bisque fired, hand painted with several coats of vibrantly colored glaze, and then fired one last time.

These days, you will often find Kristen at home, in her studio, shaping the next piece.
